However, there are no studies that evaluated relationship between preoperative incidence post-TURP Thus, we retrospectively investigated effect routinely just before surgery on preventing TURP. METHODS: From January 2010 December 2018, a total 651 patients who underwent TURP BPH was included in study. We divided into two groups: Group A (295 patients, TURP) B (356 control group). used 26Fr resectoscope sheath, 30-degree telescope, bipolar resectoscope. performed immediately insertion sheath 28Fr dilator used. assessed cystoscopy. Each patient at 1 month, 3 months, 6 months The based International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS), peak urine flow rate, voiding volume, post-void residual urine. RESULTS: There were significant differences clinical variables, such as serum specific antigen (PSA), age, operation time, duration catheterization groups (p >0.05). rate significantly different group (19.87±9.12 vs 16.18±9.79, p=0.047). 4.06% (12/295) 8.71% (31/356) B, respectively (p=0.032). متن کاملLong-Term Followup after Electrocautery Transurethral Resection of the Prostate for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia
Introduction. For decades, transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) has been the "gold standard" operation for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) but is based mainly on historic data. The historic data lacks use of validated measures and current TURP differs significantly from that performed 30 years ago. Methods. Men who had undergone TURP between 2001 and 2005 were reviewed. Internation...

متن کاملDoes resectoscope size play a role in formation of urethral stricture following transurethral prostate resection?
BACKGROUND AND AIMS To investigate the possible effect of resectoscope size on urethral stricture rate after monopolar TURP. MATERIALS AND METHODS A retrospective study of 71 men undergoing TURP was conducted at two centers' from November 2009 to May 2013. The patients were divided into one of two groups according to the resectoscope diameter used for TURP. Resectoscope diameter was 24 F in g...
متن کاملUrethral strictures after bipolar transurethral resection of prostate may be linked to slow resection rate
PURPOSE This study aimed to determine the urethral stricture (US) rate and identify clinical and surgical risk factors associated with US occurrence after transurethral resection of the prostate using the bipolar Gyrus PlasmaKinetic Tissue Management System (PK-TURP). MATERIALS AND METHODS This was an age-matched case-control study of US occurrence after PK-TURP. Retrospective data were colle...
